Quick & Easy Knit Fingerless Gloves (Free PDF Pattern)

Looking for the perfect knitting project for the transition between winter and spring (or autumn and winter)? I've got something great for you! Fingerless gloves are an absolute wardrobe must-have. They keep your hands warm, look stylish, and—most importantly—let you easily scroll on your phone or drive with a chilly steering wheel.

Quick & Easy Knit Fingerless Gloves (Free PDF Pattern)

I have a super simple pattern for you, perfect even if you are just taking your first steps in knitting in the round.

How is it made?

We will be working in the round using my favorite Magic Loop method. The gloves are knit in a basic stockinette stitch and finished off with a classic ribbing. We start by casting on 40 stitches, work 17 cm for the base, form a thumb hole , and finish with 2 cm of ribbing (knit 1, purl 1) on smaller needles.

What will you need?

To get that fluffy, chunky effect seen in the photos, I held two strands of yarn together:

  •  Drops Alasca (color "Cinnamon") – you'll need 2 skeins.

  •  Brushed Alpaca Silk (color "Chocolate") – 1 skein is enough to give it that gorgeous, fuzzy halo effect.

Your tools:

  • 4 mm and 5 mm circular knitting needles (any cable length will work for the Magic Loop method).

  • Stitch markers (to help you keep track of your rounds).

  • Scissors.

Want to knit your own cozy mittens? I've prepared a detailed, free PDF guide with step-by-step instructions for both the left and right glove (they differ slightly on where you make the thumb hole!).
